This website is a mirror for the Jan 25-27th protests around Egypt. What was intended to be a peaceful protest against the unfairness and inequality seen in the country, was turned violent when riot police started attacking people with water - then tear gas - then bullets.

Egypt's internet went out completely, roughly 10 minutes after footage of a man being shot by riot police was uploaded to the Associated Press website. Mirrors such as these stay online as definitive evidence of what's happening in Egypt, even while the government tries to silence it.

With the people of Egypt without internet and telecomms, and soon potentially without electricity, water... and life... we on the outside of the fray need to tell as much of the rest of the world as possible.
